Tin, the metal whose primary use today is as solder for gluing other metals together, here sheds its ho-hum reputation to turn itself into a star attraction. When extremely pure and under the right conditions metals solidify from their molten state according to patterns set in their atomic DNA (so to speak). Under careful conditions tin has a unique tendency to stretch out in root-like fashion taking on unpredictable directions and forming a network of delicate tendrils.
