As available for industry, sulfur is an opaque solid. Allowed to cool, the deep yellow liquid briefly solidifies into a translucent solid that turns hazy within minutes. If, however, the cooling process is precisely controlled macroscopic crystals form that maintain their translucency. Masses of see-through sulfur crystals can also sometimes be found in nature which are coveted by mineral collectors.
While no purer than the standard variety, these lab-created crystals are without question a visual upgrade for only a modest cost premium.
