Here we have precious, praiseworthy praseodymium (chuckle! snort!)
This rare earth element is a good contender for most exotic sounding name on the periodic table. It is, as comparisons go, one of the easier lanthanides to acquire as it makes up a good portion of the bulk in the monazite and bastnaesite ores from which it's refined. Element 59 is reactive in air and quickly goes from shiny metal to pile of dust. For this reason we always have it stored in ampules under argon. Our samples weigh approximately 5 grams and have been refined to an impressive 99.99% purity.
