Keep this one dry. Unlike the case with most other metals, magnesium is not easily susceptible to oxygen. Under ambient temperatures it is relatively inert and plays nice with the other metals in your collection. Its Achille’s heel is high levels of humidity which dull the luster of the metal covering it in an ugly haze that can’t be restored unless physically scraped off.
As magnesium is one of the lightest metals this one gram bar looks a bit like a horse pill. For best effect, make sure to pick up a tungsten one of the same weight!
