Selenium is little known other than for its use in dandruff shampoo and as a vitamin supplement of dubious medical value... hardly a glamorous claim to fame. However obscure it may be it is very attractive in both its red and glassy black forms.

This is arguably this element’s most attractive and dramatic look. Glassy swirly things that are jet black and reflective as a mirror - irresistible! Hard to believe this is the same stuff whence the dull gray beads usually seen!
