Everyone's familiar with chromium as "chrome", that super shiny quintessence of what metal should be. Of course, what they're looking at is only a very thin electrolytically deposited layer and oftentimes it ain't even real chromium but aluminum (pshaw!!). Since chromium tends to be brittle at high purity it acts closer to glass than metal. For this reason, and also because it's a skin irritant to some people, you won't find it being used in its pure, solid form commercially. But a collector can still get their hands on the real deal right here with this very pure sample of chromium metal as shown.
