“Camo” silicon is an interesting variant created by letting acid remove a very thin layer of material revealing the crystalline lattice underneath. As planes of atoms converge and clash the chaotic jumble that forms upon solidification of the material is usually evident only when it fractures. With light reflecting at different angles on the surface of these cubes a hint of nature’s forces is revealed despite the texture remaining indistinguishably smooth to the touch!
