This is an exotic, almost bizarre entry into our product lineup. For the sake of completeness in what is technically possible, insofar as turning elements from the periodic table into perfect little sculptured cubes, we now present strontium.

Element 38 is one of those metals that has a variety of specialty uses (red-colored fireworks being one) but is not on the tip of anyone's tongue. Extremely susceptible to oxidation, strontium is thus never found in nature in its elemental state. This reactivity also means that anything made out of strontium will be a challenge to maintain in its metallic state.

In this photograph a 10mm cube made of very pure strontium stares forward through a thick haze of surface oxides that give it all the sexy looks of a rusting oil tanker. The argon-filled ampule will at least keep it from deteriorating any further.
