This little-known metal gets the royal treatment. As far as anyone can tell these two inch-sized cubes are the very first objects made of pure holmium metal that have been polished to be as reflective as a mirror. Perhaps some anonymous tech at one point took the effort to do it for some specialized project but if so there’s no photographic evidence of it. So we’re comfortable saying it’s the first time it’s been available commercially. Not cheap, true, but special things tend to be pricey!
