Zinc is an unusual metal to be grown and offered in its crystalline form. With the exception of these ones pictured at left, which we specifically commissioned, it’s probably safe to say it’s probably only have been done before in order to study its crystalline structure as there would really be no commercial need for them that I can think of. And speaking of its crystalline structure, while a photo like this doesn’t show it at this scale once magnified you can appreciate what seems like an otherworldly jumble of shapes colliding and frozen in time (as shown in the second image)

Each crystal, naturally unique in shape, weighs a few grams each. Zinc has a slight bluish tone. In order to preserve its luster from tarnish these crystals come enclosed in glass ampules.
