Palladium 50mm Lucite Cube
Palladium 50mm Lucite Cube
Luciteria procures a fair amount of material from Russian sources but this Soviet-era piece is by far the most touching we have come across. This coin was minted in the closing days of the Soviet Union and is a series much sought out by coin collectors fascinated in equal measure by the unusual choice of metal as well as the motif. The front gives us a nostalgic look of cold war symbolism; ten Rubles that were never meant to be spent in any Russian store but instead were swiftly whisked out of the country to be sold to Western markets. On the back, appearing like a Degas sketch, a ballerina strikes a pose mid-pirouette under the simple cyrillic banner "Russian Ballet". An incomparable specimen for the element collector who wants the very best representatives for each slot in the periodic table!
Coin weighs 15.5g and is 99.95% pure.
