If you want the gold piece in your collection to call more attention unto itself than gold already does you really can't do any better than going with a genuine ancient coin. No two alike, these ancient coins are very nearly pure gold and all date to the late 5th and 6th centuries.

This turbulent period in history coincides with the fall of the Roman empire and that of the nascent Byzantine state. It was a time of constant wars as many different tribes jockeyed to establish the new world order that would usher in the Dark Ages.
