A photo of an ampule containing some actinium seems like a pretty lame gift until you consider just how deadly owning the real thing would be. With a half life of just 21 years for its most stable isotope the element can barely be in our plane of existence before its atoms dissipate into a lethal concoction of energy particles. Luckily, very little actinium is found on earth. Even its richest ores can hardly yield a few micrograms of the metal per ton. Knowing this therefore one can be excused for this impostor!
