Thallium
Thallium
In this third and last entry for the extrusion specimens we have the deadly metal thallium. Although rare in nature (fewer than 1 part per million in the Earth’s crust is thallium) rarer yet would be finding applications that merit the use of such a dangerous substance. Only about ten tons - a chunk the size of your typical washing machine - is refined each year where it is used very sparingly in specialty solders and advanced optics. Oh yeah, and to make decorative displays for collectors.
No messing around. By way of our strongest disclaimer we’d like to drive home the point that within this hand-sized dome you will be holding thallium sufficient enough to sicken an entire city. Although there are no federal regulations prohibiting the ownership or transport of pure thallium we will proactively reserve the sale of these domes to pre-screened customers.
