Much of the manufactured annual supply of this little known metal winds up as pipes. Turns out that zirconium is remarkably resistant to corrosion so when you have fluids that are so salty or acidic that it’ll eat through even the best grades of steel the parts book will recommend going with good ol’ Zr.

Not that it will come cheaply mind you. At a good two or three hundred dollars per kilo, any plant manager looking to outfit pipes made from this wondermetal needs a very generous budget. Better to pay the piper for the high grade goods than frequent replacements of crappy gear, right?

Not your worry though. These little one gram bars won’t break the bank.
