Turn the heat up to just above boiling water and sulfur melts into a beautiful yellow liquid. The color of pee, to be honest, but with the consistency of molten wax. Normally, as the liquid cools and turns into a solid it is briefly semi-transparent before turning opaque. With careful calibration of the temperature, however, this sulfur can be made to retain its translucency and form crystals to boot.

In this ampule we’ve trapped a gram or two of these pretty crystals, making for an ideal sample to collect of this element.
