Where’s sulfur come from? Hell itself.

That’s what the ancient world figured. The fire and brimstone of the bible was none other than the literal lava and streams of sulfur spewing out of volcanoes. Whether the locals attributed it to pissy mountain spirits or Satan himself, it’s easy to see why they associated this smelly, yellow stuff with the underworld. Not that they steered clear of it for fear of divine retribution. Brave villagers of yore discovered it could be powdered and sprinkled across their crops as a fumigant, over their sores to heal them faster and (thanks to its origins in the netherworld) as a key ingredient in the making of potions for warding off spells.

Although found just about everywhere and in countless chemicals and minerals, today it’s still mined by hand in the same manner and from the same natural vents where Earth has been burping it out since ancestral times. And, wouldn’t you know it, it’s still being used in the traditional roles as a general purpose pesticide and also turned into ‘medicated’ soaps said to be useful in the treatment of acne, dandruff, jock itch, bad marriages and whatever else you’re gullible enough to believe it’s good for.

Anyway, turn the heat up to just above boiling water and sulfur melts into a beautiful yellow liquid. The color of pee, to be honest, but with the consistency of molten wax. Normally, as the liquid cools and turns into a solid it is briefly semi-transparent before turning opaque. This ampule comes with a few grams of this legendary product born of Earth’s entrails in all its yellowy splendor!
