Potassium 99.99%
Certain elements have become linked with foods. You have of course the dairy and calcium pairing, spinach and iron and, um… popcorn and sodium. When speaking in terms of nutritional supplements, potassium is always mentioned alongside bananas. At about 0.3% by weight that’s a decent portion. Eating a couple of bananas can put a full gram’s worth of potassium in your belly (don’t worry, you already have over 100 in you). However, the odd thing is that in the fruit kingdom bananas aren’t the best bang for the buck in this department. Not even close. Almonds are nearly 1% potassium by weight, so three times as much as the curvy yellow edible. That’s good to know considering you’re supposed to eat three grams of this metal every day(!)
Potassium is supremely reactive with oxygen so the only way to keep it metallic is to ensure those pesky oxygen atoms are kept at bay. Glass does this effectively and makes therefore the best method for keeping the sample lustrous. Potassium’s melting point is a fairly low 63°C (143F), the temperature your car reaches when locked on a hot summer day. That’s one idea for melting the quantity in this ampule to play with it and show off to others the amazing molten metal that you eat every day! Just….be real careful not to break it, of course.
