This little-known member of the precious metals family is very rare in nature. Found in Russia, and named after this country, ruthenium is associated with platinum ores along which it’s always found in trace amounts. And after someone takes the trouble to isolate it jewelers mix right back in with platinum to make the alloy harder. Because it is a precious metal there is growing interest among investors in buying it as bullion.
Here we have about 2-3 grams of this exotic metal which comes as small irregular plates.
