Iron

$5.00

The Iron Age marked an important transition in world history and for having been such an intimate part of our lives for thousands of years one would think that filling this hole in a set of all the elements of the periodic table would be trivially easy. And it is, if you don't mind your sample being impure. You see, iron is of little commercial interest in its pure rust-prone elemental form which is why it's nearly always alloyed with carbon and other elements to give it more desirable properties. Virtually no one takes the trouble to take the impurities out because there's no point in doing so. Unless, of course, you're fastidious that your Fe hole be represented by a sample north of 99.9% purity. In which case we can provide a little of this lab rarity for you!
