The electronic chips and other hardware which make use of semiconductor metals are highly susceptible to contaminants due to their miniaturized nature. For this reason it's necessary to purify them to extraordinary levels. While silicon is the most widely available element in this group at the hallowed 7N level (that's a 99 followed by another 5 nines!) the other metalloids are occasionally also made to these exacting standards.

Ordinarily a pretty cheap industrial commodity, antimony of this purity becomes a new beast entirely. It requires insanely laborious effort to remove those vanishingly small traces of other elements. Imagine picking out a single differently colored M&M out of a pile of TEN MILLION and you get the idea of how seemingly impossible that task becomes.

The process used is the same as for refining electronics-grade silicon and yields these beautiful slugs that measure approximately 100x20mm. Also like silicon, antimony is brittle and will shatter if impacted.

Well, anyway, here it is. A beautiful piece of engineering like this deserves a special place in your collection. Starting at just $8 a gram for broken pieces up to a full slug weighing 75-85 grams.
