This is our most dramatic sample of germanium. Normally available as crushed bits up to an inch or so, within this presentation dome sits a monolith of the purest grade of this element. It is, in fact, a chip off the block. A block that was meant to be sliced wafer thin to be turned into exotic semiconductors perhaps. Or maybe into a lens for night vision goggles. Whatever it was initially intended for it has wound up as a decorative object that will drop the jaw of every science-lovin’ geek who gazes upon it. Amen!
